James and his wife Stephanie are high school sweethearts and married right out of high school. They have been married 20 years and have three children: William, Jacey, and Haily. James enjoys cheering his kids on at their basketball games as a spectator and coach. He and his wife enjoy spending time as a family, camping, watching movies, going to sporting events, traveling and have recently discovered they enjoy hiking.
James was introduced to the Executive Director of Heartland Kids Against Hunger through a bible study. As soon as he found out there was a need to fill, he wasted no time jumping in to help. James has always had a heart and passion to serve, give back, and help in any way he can. He started volunteering right away and hasn't looked back.
In October 2023, James was announced as Chairman of the board. James is a goal-oriented executive in the IT community. With many years of stabilizing and growing business revenues, he now has the opportunity to scale Heartland Kids Against Hunger to help tackle food insecurities worldwide. With 18 years in the Omaha community leading teams, driving change, and helping grow, James brings an extensive background to help HKAH make an impact on this need.
Growing up, James never had to worry about where his next meal came from, but stories of his parent's past helped drive a passion for solving a worldwide need. After just 1-year with Heartland Kids Against Hunger, we have become digital. Taking digital payments, donations, and building for scale to help launch this mission to a stage of significant impact. James helped restructure our financial systems with the help of other board members to ensure our result to solve the need was long-lasting.
