Fiesta Rice, a beneficial asset in our fight against hunger here in the United States, will find its place as our premier domestic aid product. Its bold flavor, richer texture, and high nutrients make it more than just an aid for hungry families, it also passes the Federal School Lunch requirement. We hope to see it as a symbol of reversing the course of hunger in America. The collaborative partnership with Conagra Brands and its employees was essential in creating this winning formula.

Rice & Veggies: The vitamin formula is a proprietary formula and is the “secret sauce” that goes into our food. It includes 21 vitamins and minerals, and each bag of our food contains six servings of dehydrated food, which, when boiled, will feed six children or adults. According to the food scientists developing the food, it supplies the optimum amount of nutrition for a malnourished individual. It provides not just a meal but better health to starving people. Additionally, our bags are specifically made from moisture-proof and odor-proof material to prevent spoilage and insect or rodent problems. The food bags are also three-ply for strength. Kids Against Hunger’s life-saving meals have a shelf life of at least three years.

1. Put KAH Meal and Water in a
Microwave-Safe Bowl
Pour KAH Meal Pack (international or domestic) into a large microwave-safe bowl—you’ll want one that can hold at least 4 quarts when making this meal. Note: The rice and soy expand during cooking, so be sure to choose a container that is large enough.
Then, add 6 cups of cold water.
2. Place in the Microwave
Put the bowl in the microwave uncovered and microwave the meal on high for 10 minutes.
3. Stir the Meal and Microwave it Again
Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir. Microwave the meal for 8 to 10 minutes more depending on the power of the microwave.
4. Remove the Meal and Let it Stand
Take your meal out of the microwave. Let it stand for 5 minutes. At this point, taste the meal. If it’s the texture you desire—eat! If it’s still a bit crunchy, microwave it more, checking at 1-minute increments for the desired level of doneness.
